Club Philly Forensics is a Saturday forensic science enrichment program that introduces students in grades 5–12 to the exciting world of forensic science through hands-on investigations, interactive workshops, and mentorship from forensic professionals.

Because forensic science plays a critical role in criminal investigations, students also explore topics related to crime prevention, drug awareness, and violence prevention while learning how science is used to solve real-world cases.

Forensic science is a multidisciplinary field that integrates Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Criminal Justice, and other STEM disciplines. Throughout the program, students strengthen transferable skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, observation, and attention to detail.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students will:

• Participate in engaging, hands-on forensic science investigations.
• Explore forensic science careers and the educational pathways required to enter the field.
• Learn from forensic scientists and other criminal justice professionals.
• Hear from guest speakers representing various forensic science specialties.
• Develop an understanding of forensic techniques and how evidence is collected, analyzed, and interpreted.
• Build scientific inquiry, observation, and analytical thinking skills.
• Learn how biology, chemistry, physics, and social sciences contribute to criminal investigations.
• Strengthen critical thinking, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Learn to distinguish relevant from irrelevant information when evaluating evidence.
• Discover the important role forensic experts play within the criminal justice system.
• Access college preparation resources and STEM educational opportunities.

Club Philly Forensics is a mobile program. We can travel to your school or organization and bring the forensic science experience directly to your students.

Our workshops are designed for boys and girls ages 12–18 and are ideal for schools, youth organizations, community centers, libraries, and nonprofit programs.

Each workshop features hands-on forensic science activities led by experienced forensic professionals, exposing students to a variety of forensic disciplines, investigative techniques, and STEM career opportunities.
